Fundraising and Finances

Money should not impede participating in scouting. 

We try to keep fees reasonable and use pack funds to pay for events whenever possible.  To do so, we have one large fundraiser each year… a Pancake Breakfast at Saint Mark’s Church in Altadena.

Fundraising allows the pack to offer an affordable program for everyone. A donation today will help keep fees down and our calendar full of fun events for everyone!

Why Donate to Pack 1?

Pack 1 offers a program with various activities, and as everyone knows, nothing is free.

While the IRS recognizes the Boy Scouts of America as tax-exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3), this exemption does not extend to or include Scout Packs, Troops, or other units. As a result, a donation to Pack 1 is not tax-deductible.

However, the leadership team always does its best to ensure all scouts have an opportunity to participate, and your donations allow us to assist families that might otherwise not participate.

To support Scouting in our community, donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.
